This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you, our customer of the type of personal information Danall collects from you, how it is used and what steps are taken to ensure your personal information is kept confidential and safe . This Policy also outlines how you, our customer, can make your preferences known regarding when and how Danall may send communications to you. We respect your right of privacy under the Privacy Act of Canada and we comply with all of the Privacy act’s requirements in respect to the collection, management and disclosure of your personal information.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it


Danall only collects information that is voluntarily provided by you during your visit to our site. Some of the tools we use are outlined below including all the legal terms applicable to each.




When you, our visitors, leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.




If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to our website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Please be aware images may be subject to copyright laws.


Contact forms


As part of our simple contact or subscription form we collect your first and last name with your email address. By doing so you agree to periodic mailings of items such as newsletters, special (member only) offers, discounts and information about our new products and books.

The information collected from any contact/subscription form is kept indefinitely unless you initiate opting out by unsubscribing from our email list.




If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

This type of software tool collects information about you – our visitor. Information like where did you come from, how long was your session, and many other sets of analytic type data.

All activities fall within the agreements of Google Analytics Terms of Service.




While you visit our site, we’ll track:

Who on our team has access


Danall has two Administrators that have access to the information you provide us such as:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our administrators have access to this information to help fulfil orders, process refunds and support you.




We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

At danall.ca we use Akismet anti-spam service. The information collected here typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

Backup retention is completely up to the website owner. This can vary from less than one minute to indefinitely.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.


What rights you have over your data


If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
